Wedding bells will ring at the Dennisville Methodist Church Sunday for Donna Lynn Harris, daughter of Alvin and Rae Evelyn Harris of Dennisville. The groom is James Ellis Bailey, son of Elizabeth Russell of Woodbine. Both bride and groom are graduates of Middle Township High School. Bailey is a member of the Stone Harbor Police Department and Harris is employed at the School for Special Services, Court House. MAID OF Honor will be Jackie Robinson and best man, Jeff Grace. Attendants will include George Bowman, Alvin Harris Jr.. Leroy Gift, Vernon Champion and Robert Damereau as ring bearer. THE WINNERS of the Dennis Township Elementary School Essay Contest, sponsored by the Dennis Township Historical Society, have been chosen and will be announced at the graduation ceremonies. The essays were based upon the history of Dennis Township from interviews of long timT\residents and research by the students. WILLIAM CASSEDY of Woodbine presented the historical society with an original Deed, dated May 23. 1801, in which Henry Ludlam granted land and ' premises to local residents to use as a public school The Ludlam School, on Delsea Drive, just north of Dennisville. was the first public school in the state. Scene of enlistments and training for soldiers of the War of 1812 and Civil War. it was a meeting place for organizations such as The Whig Party and Civil War Township Prayer Committee. The building is still in use by various township organizations. Last renovated in 1865, the building is now the subject of a joint effort of township organizations to be restored.
