Award Set For Locke AVALON - Theodore F. Locke Jr.. 42, formerly of Nether Providence and now a resident of this borough will receive the Widener-PMC Alumni Association's Distinguished Alumnus Award during Widener's 165th commencement ceremony 9:45 a.m. Saturday, on the University's Pennsylvania Campus in Chester. Locke retired as vice president for administration last year and is serving as acting dean of the School of Hotel and Restaurant Management HE FIRST returned to his alma mater as an employee in 1966, after retiring from the U.S. Army with the rank of lieutenant colonel, to become assistant to the dean of engineering. Between 1966 and 1985, Locke served in several positions in the School of Engineering and the University administration with responsibility for budgeting, programming. < planning, physical plant, housekeeping, security, purchasing, personnel, and computer systems.
Bill Hikes Fire Co. Fund Cap TRENTON - A municipality could increase the funds it appropriates to a volunteer fire company under a measure sponsored by Assemblyman Guy F. Mu ziani/; R-Cape May. Cumberland, that won unanimous approval recently from the Assembly Law, Public Safety. Defense and Corrections Committee The bill. A-1676. would authorize local governments to designate an addi tional $15,000 of their budget to volunteer fire companies, increasing the annual cap to $60,000. Under the bill, municipalities with three or more volunteer fire companies could appropriate an additional $20,000 to each company The measure now goes to the Assembly for consideration.
