Rewarded For Science . Research LAWRENCEVILLE - Allison Jane Harvey of . Middle Township High School won top honors for her research work using equine amnion for temporary wound dressing for horses at the convention of the New Jersey Junior Academy of Science and Westinghouse Science Talent Search. The Cape student was awared a New Jersey Academy of Science pin for ' her project. Earlier she had won a grant of money from the academy, a private non-profit group, to help her research work.

Day Care Program

COLD SPRING - For the first time a Summer Day Care Program will be offered to Lower Township children during the month of July. According to school officials, plans are underway to incorporate arts and crafts, cooking lessons, woodworking projects, music, computer instruction, recreational reading, outdoor/indoor sports and Pvt. Oliver West, Maud Abrams principal, indicated that the summer program will be a pilot project for the school district commencing June 31 and ending July 30. West said program hours, 9 a.m.-4 p.m., are designed to provide a solid schedule of recreational and educational activities for students grades kindergarten to six. WORKING PARENTS will have the option to enroll their children in the program on a flexible basis: half days or full day schedule, or staggered day schedule. Based on projected participation cost to parents will be less than $1 per hour with a minimum of a halfday schedule required for enrollment. If parents enroll their child on a full time basis before June 2 the cost is reduced by 20 percent. Enrollment in the program is limited and slots will be filled on a first come, first served basis.
