The state park offers camping and picnic sites, cabins and a beautiful lake for swimming and canoeing. Lake Nummy was constructed during the 1930's by the young men of the Civilian Conservation Corps (C.C.C.). Operated by the Park and Forestry section of the N.J. Division of Environmental ^Protection, the forest ^presents a fine example of the recreational facilities offered by the division throughout the state. The park entrance is located in Dennis Township on the Belleplain-Woodbine Road. Wes Creamer of Belleplain reports that commercial fishermen are making bumper catches of weakfish, blues and drum in the Delaware Bay. The weakfish average 10 pounds, with some up to 17 to 18. Blues average six to 10 pounds and the drum from 40 to 60 pounds. Sport fishermen from our - western shore have met with little reward. Wes tells us that the water must warm up before the fish really begin to bite. At least, we now know they are here.
Veteran gardener Thomas Hand of South Dennis says it's time to plant pole lima beans.
