Wetlands to Have 2nd 'Spring Fling'
STON? HARBOR - A live exhibit of raptor birds, a flea market, continuous film and slide shows and environmental exhibits from the seaside wetlands of South Jersey, tours and children's activities are all included in plans for the second annual 'Spring Fling' Saturday, June 7 at the Wetlands Institute in Stone. The all-day event will begin at 10 a.m. with the emphasis on family fun and learning. The Wetlands Institute is a non-profit organization dedicated to research and education programs concerned with coastal environment. It is open to the public Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. THE LIVE raptors will be brought by Bill and Stephanie Streeter from the Natural Science Raptor Center in Milford, Pa. 1T>ey also will be featured guests and speakers at a program I later that evening, followI ing a champagne reception I and dinner. Quilts, Decoys Sought CAPE MAY - The MidAtlantic Center for the Arts (MAC) is seeking local collectors willing to lend either antique or modern quilts, coverlets and decoys for display at the 6th Annual Quilt and Decoy Show and Sale. Items would be borrowed . for the duration of the show, I which will be held in Con- I vention Hall 9 a.m.-9 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m -6 p.m. Sunday. The set-up day for the show is tomorrow. Items for display at the show should be brought to Convention Hall between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. then. However, objects will also be received through the course of that afternoon. Also, arrangements can be made for home pickup, by calling EXHIBITORS of quilts, coverlets and decoys will each receive two free passes to the show In addition, lenders will also have the opportunity to have free appraisals made of their objects by the qualified professionals who will be conducting appraisals through the course of the show. Free appraisals of quilts, coverlets and decoys will be a major feature of this year's show. Members of the public are invited to bring quilts and coverlets for appraisal by Georgina Fries 7-9 p.m. Saturday. The public can bring decoys for appraisal by a representative of Richard | Oliver Galleries of Ken- ' nebunk, ME at any time during the course of the show. Fun, Games AVALON - The Avalon Senior Citizens Organization holds its regular Fun and Games Day 12:30-3 p.m. Tuesday May 27, at the Community Hall, 30th and Avalon Avenue 12:30 to 3 p.m. There will be card games and craft classes, along with free blood pressure screening by a registered nurse .
