Violin Soloists Featured
WILDWOOD - Two violin soloists, one from Roumania, will be featured when the South Jersey Symphony presents its first concert in southern Cape May County 3 p.m. Sunday, June 1. at Wiidwood High School. The concert is free and no tickets are required. Conductor Samuel Muni has announced that Alexander Sinionescu of Roumania and Maria Bach: mann of the Philadelphia area will perform at the concert. Both won the 1906 Concert Artists Guild International Competition and will be appearing at Carnegie
Hall, New York City, later in the year. THE SPRING concert will feature works ranging from Mozart to Bach to Tschaikowsky. The program will open with Mozart's "Eine Meine Kleine Nacht Muzik," followed by Vivaldi's "Concerto for Two Violins" and "Winter From the Four Seasons", Bach's "Air On a G String". Freeholders via the Cultural and Heritage Commission and by the Philadelphia Musicians Union, is being offered as an introduction to what is hoped to be a cultural subscription series for southern Cape May County during the autumn, winter and spring when concerts and recitals are at a minimum in the area. IT IS BEING spearhead ed by a committee headed by the Rev. Thomas Goslin of Wiidwood Crest, pastor emeritus of the Community Church of Madrid. The committee has been officially designated as the Lower Cape May County chapter of the South Jersey Symphony Orchestra League. Following the concert a reception will be held at the high school for the director and the orchestra. Members of the audience are invited to attend. There, participants will board their canoes, 2 people in each, and paddle themselves along the Wading River. Joe Lomax, local environmental consultant and photography enthusiast, will act as the principal guide to point out interesting plants, animals and sights. Reservations and advance payment for this special guided trip are required and may be made by calling 368-1211, by June 2. On Exhibit STONE HARBOR - The William Ris Galleries, 9400 Second Ave., will present an exhibition of the current works of Jacqueline Penney and Carol Sebold Friday through June 11.
