Honors Go To Women Golfer

COURT HOUSE - The Cape May County Chamber's Spring Golf Tournament was held at the Stone Harbor Golf Club May 7 with 120 golfers teeing off. Top honors for the tournament winner under the Calloway System went to Joyce Pettit for her "low net" of 71. Pettit, of Woodbine, is a member of the Stone Harbor Club and was playing in her first chamber tournament. SECOND PLACE low net Mauger Takes Repair Course NORTH WILDWOOD — Marine Sgt. Charles R. Mauger, son of Barbara Mauger of 110 E. Ninth Ave., recently completed the Advanced Intermediate Maintenance Course. Conducted at Marine Corps Base, Camp Lejeune, NC, the 20-week course trained Mauger to perform repairs to tactical vehicles and associated subassemblies and components. Mauger joined the Marine Corp6 in December 1975.

went to veteran golfer Ralph Schoonejongen, an employee of the Stone Harbor Golf Club, with a 72, while Chuck Milbut. a retired school counselor, took third place with a 73. Both Schoonejongen and Milbut are members of the Stone Harbor club. First place low gross winner was Jim Cummings, while 2nd place low gross went to Charles ( Bill) Piatt of Avalon with a 77, and Third low gross went to Steve Fillippone with an 80. WINNERS TIF the "Closest to the Pin" trophies were on the seventh hole, Tony Caputo of Marmora, the ninelh hole, Ralph Schoonejongen, and on the 18th hole Gary Fenton of South Seaville. Trophies for "Longest Drive" were awarded to Glenn Reagan on the fifth tee, Walt Skinner won "Longest Drive" on the 14th tee and Ralph Schoonejongen won "Longest Drive" on the 10th hole. Trophies were presented to all winners at the awards luncheon which followed the round of golf. Richard Giuliano, president of the chamber presented the trophies to

the winners; assisted by Bruce Clark, golf committee member. A fall tournament is planned for Oct. 8.

Acesln eacquire 'Truck ' Butts * WILDWOOD - The Wildwood Aces of the United States Basketball League today announced they have reacquired former LaSalle center Albert "Truck" Butts from the Westchester Gojden Apples. The 6-9, 215-pound Butts was an Aces territorial pick in 1985 who played for Westchester late last season. In exchange for the rights to Butts, the Aces sent the Apples the rights to their number-one draft choice of a year ago, John Ebeling. Ironically, the trade reunites both players with their college coaches — Ebeling with Hal Wissel, whom he played for at Flordia Southern, and Butts with Aces coach Lefty Ervin. IN THREE SEASONS at LaSalle, Butts averaged 12.0 points and 8.9 rebounds a game. He was chosen by the Boston Celtics in the sixth round of the 1985 NBA draft.
