NTPA Program Has Job-lift Training
RIO GRANDE - Cape May County businesses will soon be able to find qualified office help "right in their backyard" through a new secretarial science course offered by the county's Job Training and Partnership Act program. Administered by Atlantic Community College at its Cape May County Extension Center here, the program offers county residents with limited income the opportunity to "get a foundation that will qualify them for entrylevel work," according to Joan Sooy, coordinator of ACC's JTPA programs. "WE'RE TAKING people with little or no job skills and giving them the training needed for interesting, better-paying work," said Sooy. "Some Cape May County residents work non-skilled, seasonal jobs. We're trying to qualify them for skilled, year-round employment." Helena Aber, county classroom training specialist, feels that successful JTPA programs like the secretarial science course will benefit the AA UW Sets 2nd Chance Student Aid
