Home Health Aides Paid County Honor .

COURT HOUSE - The Cape May County Board of Freeholders officially declared May 19 as "Home Health Aide Day" in Cape May County to honor the many home health aides employed by Jersey Cape Visiting Homemaker Service. Jersey Cape Visiting Homemakers has been providing in-home healthsupportive services to residents of the county since May, 1959. The homemaker service's executive director, Ann Magee, explained that "Home health aides are the life-force of home care services. "IN THE LAST year in this county alone, 800 frail elderly, sick and disabled persons were able to avoid placement in nursing homes because of the assistance they received in day-to-day activities from our home health aides. "Let's face it, there wouldn't be home health care services if it weren't for these dedicated aides." The freeholders presented a resolution honoring all the home health aides in the county, specifically citing Audrey Stanton as Jersey Cape Visiting Homemaker Service's Home Health Aide of the Year. Mrs. Stanton was chosen to represent her agency for outstanding performance of her duties as a home health aide. "I AM VERY excited about being picked as the Aide of the Year, "Mrs. Stanton, who has been an Tuition Fee Hike For CCC VINELAND - The Cumberland County College Board of Trustees voted May 6 to increase college tuition fees, effective July 1. Full-time tuition for county residents will be raised from $375 to $412.50 per semester. Also, the per credit hour rate will increase from $31 to $34 for county residents. Most laboratory fees will increase from $15 to $20 and the nursing student laboratory fee will be raised from $25 to $50. THE BOARD also approved the first-year curriculum design for the Computer Integrated Manufacturing Technology Consortium Program, conducted by Camden Community College in conjunction with the other community colleges in South Jersey. The board voted to accept a $10,675 bid from South Jersey X-ray Supply Co. of Delran to purchase A-ray models in the college's planned nonenergized radiographic laboratory. Also, the board voted to change the degree designation for the liberal arts/business administration program from associate in arts to associate in science degree and approved a new course, Advanced Basic Programming.

Freeholder Gerald Thornton noted in presenting the resolution to representatives of the agency, "The thousands of home health aides across the state symbolize a commitment to quality home health services. % Posture Screening Scheduled SWAINTON - In obser vance of National Physical Therapy Week, June 1-7, Holy Redeemer Visiting Nurse Agency is sponsoring "Employe Good Posture Week". Posture screening will be conducted by the supervisor of the Rehabilitation Department, Elaine Bukowski, M.S., L.P.T., and her staff. Employes of the agency are invited to visit the Rehabilitation Department for posture evaluation and a copy of "Good Posture Tips" provided by the American Physical Therapy Association. National Physical Therapy Week was initiated in 1981 by the American Physical Therapy Association to focus attention on the contributions of physical therapy to the improvement of the health of all Americans. # Job-Trans Program To Start RIO GRANDE - The Cape Human Resources, Inc. Job-Trans program will begin a new life skills training cycle Tuesday, May 27, at the Woodbine Division, Monroe and Longfellow Avenues, (861-2816), and at the Wildwood Division, 115 W. Davis Ave. (522-0231). High school seniors or high school dropouts who want to find jobs, are wanted. THE JOB-TRANS program will teach participants to fill out job applications, handle themselves in job interviews, learn first hand about the job market and how to choose a career. Classes are limited to 15 students between the ages of 16 and 21. Young people can register by calling the two members mentioned above or: 465-5139, 729-0997 or 861-2579. The Job-Trans Program is funded by a grant through Cape-Atlantic JTPA. 4
