Blues and drum are beginning to bite in the upper bay A lady fisherwoman out of Malts Landing boated a 72-pound drum Sunday. Charles Minahan. genial postmaster of South Dennis, relates the mysterious disappearance of a large pile of excess sand at the construction site of the new post office. According to neighbors. an unmarked truck and frontend loader removed the sand last week-end. Neighborhood wags allege the deed was done by a local resort in need of beach reclamation. This matter is not under investigation. /

A FOND FAREWELL is bid the stately oaks of our township. But. as they say. when one door closes, another opens. So. welcome the gossamer threads of the gypsy moths. True, they do hot cast much shade, nor do they at this time constitute a known asset to our environment. However they are here and with no spray, the oaks, as did the chestnut trees, will soon disappear. Perhaps some use will be found for these lovely creatures. The South Millville Gun Club in Beilepiain welcomes the return of Paul Shannon from his annual winter sojourn in Florida Paul, a member of the club, plays a variety of musical instruments and turns' the Tuesday social evening into a lovely party. Wally Charow. affable host at the Woodbine House, tells us that a total of Si.ooo was raised at the Tuckahow American Legion for Ron Trout and his children of South Dennis, who lost their wife and mother in a tragic auto accident recently. The event was sponsored by Nettie Webb of South Dennis arid Charow of Woodbine, both of whom donated their time, goods and services to make the affair a success. Well done. Lewis Gordon Hickman II. son of Judy Hickman of Beilepiain has just returned from Disney World. The trip was sponsored by the Sunshine Foundation who gave 239 students of Ocean Academy at Crest Haven a dream come true. Daniel L. Money, principal of Vo-Tech Center in Court House, spoke to the Dennis Township Euritan Club last Monday night. Money, who has been at VoTech for 13 years, outlined the many studies available to all county residents and the time-sharing method that is used with all of our county high schools.
