SUMMER IS NIGH and in just a few ;| days, June will be bustin' out all over. This 1 is the favorite time of year for weddings. I The name for June comes from the ancient a Romans. Apparently the Goddess Juno, 1 the guardian of weddings, had something I to do with naming one of our favorite months. Besides the fun of seeing places reopen that we've missed during the winter and *. watching all the visitors flock to our fair area, we especially like June because it's y strawberry time. Big, juicy, luscious strawberries are a i special treat, particularly when they are piled high on biscuit dough with lots of real whipped cream on top. *•* THIS TIME OF YEAR is good to enjoy ^ your front porch if you're lucky enough to ■j have one. Once the summer furniture is put out along with the hanging baskets of flowering annuals, it's nice to keep an eye on the neighborhood and just relax with the summer breezes. I There's no better time than now for enjoying good food with good friends at these special places : A CA MIA. It means "in my house." And if you got meals likes this at home, you'd ;f probably never leave the house. Luckily though, a visit to this fine restaurant on the i* Washington Street Mall will Viake you want to come back again and again.

Brunch, served Saturday thru Monday from 9 to 2, is a delight, starting with frittate, an Italian omelet prepared with three eggs, fontina cheese and your choice of six wonderful toppings. Dinners, served from 5:30 to 10 Thur% day thru Monday, are all the mouthwatering Northern Italian cooking that A Ca Mia is famous for. One of our favorites was Aragosta Arciduca, fresh lobster meat sauteed and baked in a marsala mustard sauce. We'll definitely go back again for that. DONNA'S PLACE. For some of th^best food in Stone Harbor, try Donna s Place at 107th St. and Third Ave. Everything is fresh, from their baked goods to their fish market. The variety of offerings in Donna's mini mall of food is outstanding. We recently had one of the excellent chicken platters. You can eat in or take it out for a picnic or to save yourself some time in the kitchen. »«* LUND'S SEAFOOD MARKET. Every body's talking about the great seafood platter specials at Lund's Seafood Market, 997 Ocean Drive in Cape May. The food is as plentiful as it is tasty. Lund's fish market has fresh fish daily for you to take home and prepare as you like. Or their take-out market will prepare your choices to order and you can add a hearty homemade soup or salad from the menu. Lund's offers a 10 per cent discount to Seniors except on specials. ***

DOC'S CUSTARD. Does just the thought of ice cream make you fantasize about sundaes, ice cream sodas, cones, milk shakes and other wonderful creations? Doc's Custard on Route 9 in Ocean View can whip up these fantasies for you. Last week we got a beautifully decorated (and delicious) ice cream cake for a relative's birthday. Doc's is also well-known in the area for its other fine food and desserts, including what many consider an award-winning cheeseburger. Doc's is now serving . breakfast on weekends. FRED'S TAVERN. Known as the place where |ood friends meet, Fred's Tavern at 314-96th Street in Stone Harbor will be pulling out all the stops for the summer season. Fred's has live entertainment every weekend helping to hit the right key for vacationers and locals alike. Enjoy all the good times throughout the year at Fred's. MISTER DONUT. We've found that the Mister Donut at 81 Dennisville Rd. in Cape May Court House offers a quick and satisfying soup and biscuit lunch that is simply delicious. The counter is always fast for those on , the go and the ladies who serve it are unfailingly throughtful and courteous. Of course, Mister Donut has a ready assortment of fresh donuts, biscuits, cinnamon buns and muffins for yummy at-home eating.
