Concert Sunday Is Symphony's 36th

WILDWOOD - When the South Jersey Symphony ij performs at Wildwood High School 3 p.m. Sunday, it will : mark the 36th concert since ; the orchestra was founded by Conductor Samuel Muni four years ago. : Although the symphony has appeared in Cape May : County five times, tnis will be its first performance in lower Cape May County, the other appearances being in Ocean City. The concert at Wildwood High School will be free because of funding by the Freeholders through the Cultural and Heritage Commission and the Philadelphia Musician Union. [ A NEW organization, callf ed the Lower Cape May [ County Chapter of the South \ Jersey Symphony Orches- • tra League, has been form | ed in an effort to expand the | cultural scene in this section y of the county during the offseason months.

"We are hopeful that this concert will be the start of a regular cultural series in this area." said the Rev. Thomas Goslin. of Wildwood Crest, chairman of the organization. "So many people have expressed an interest in quality concerts here in their home area, rather than traveling distances. A good audience response June 1 will be the impetus for bigger things to come." THE ALL-STRING concert will feature the music of Mozart. Tschailkowsky and Bach. Violinists Maria Bachmann of Philadelphia and Alexander Sinionescu of Roumanb. who won the 1986 Concert Artist Guild International Competition, will i appear as solists. Following the concert a reception for the orchestra and Muni will be held ai the i high school. Members of the audience are invited. No tickets are required for the concert or the reception.
