Victorian Fair Set At Physick Estate -
CAPE MAY - The city will celebrate its traditional Victorian Fair 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Saturday, June 21 ( rain date: June 22) The annual event will be held on the grounds of the Emlen Physick Estate 1048 Washington St., in Cape May, sponsored by the Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts (MAC). Admission is free. Among the fair's attractions will be: Food booths selling everything from barbecued hot dogs to funnel cakes, freshsqueezed lemonade, fried chicken platters, and homemade baked goods. DOZENS OF booths selling antiques, collectibles and handicraft items. Among the items for sale will be hand-dipped candles, Victorian Wallpapers, wicker. antique glass and china, hand-painted ceramics, jewelry and gems, Victorian Christmas ornaments and Shell Club STONE HARBOR - The Jersey Cape Shell Club will hear "Shelling in Tahiti", presented by Larry Strange of Ocean City, at its meeting 8 p.m. Monday. Upper Sets Opening Of Beaches TUCKAHOE - Upper Township beaches will open for the season Saturday, June 21. Ceremonies which are scheduled for 10 a.m. on the beach at Williams Road in Strahmere. Mayor Daniel Beyel, the township committeemen and Ruth Shaw, recreation director, are expected to be present as the guards are posted for the summer in Strathmere. Township Beach Patrol members who will be stationed at the Beesley's Point Beach will participate in the opening ceremonies before going to their stands at noon June 21. Members of the patrol will guard the beaches at Strathmere and Beesley's Point 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. through Labor Day. Screening On Hearing SOMERS POINT - Shore Memorial Hospital is offering a hearing screening 11 a.m. -6 p.m Monday. June 23, in the hospital's 3rd Shriver conference room. Participates must be over 5 years old. Preregistration is required. For information or to register call the Wellness Office at 653-4500.
