Job Club Classes To Begin June 16
RIO GRANDE - The Employment and Training Foundation's Youth and Job Club will hold registration for its next class Wednesday, June 11, with classes scheduled to begin Monday, June 16. The Job Club is a federally-funded program sponsored by the Private Industry Council (P.I.C.). Under the Job Training Partnership Act (J.T.P.A.), Cape May County youths 16-21 and persoas 55 or older who are unemployed and meet federal income guidelines, are eligible for training and assistance for job placement into pJffianent, yearround positions. THE CLASSES, which last for approximately two weeks, consist of preemployment skills such as resume writing, filling out applications, dressing appropriately for the interview, interview techniques, and job searching skills. Video taping and computer equipment are utiliz-
ed and classes are conducted in a positive, small group environment. A free computer is awarded to youths who remain employed for a period of 60 days. The Youth Job Club is located in the Village Shoppes of Rio Grande, across from the post office. For more information, call 889-0486 or 889-0546.
Four-Day Week Now For CCC VINELAND - Cumberland County College's Administration Building and Library will operate on a four-day work week until Aug. 28. The college will be open Monday through Thursday 8 a.m.-5: 15 p.m. The summer schedule enables the college to continue its energy conservation efforts, according to Paul Abrams, assistant dean of administration. FIRST AND second summer session day and evening courses will be conducted as scheduled. The administration building will be open until 7:30 p.m. June 23 and 30. July 7 and 8 and Aug. 4 and 21 for summer sessions and fall semester registrations. Granted To Goodrich COURT HOUSE - Christine Marie Goodrich, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert G. Goodrich of this community was one of 317 graduates of Mont Saint Mary's College receiving diplomas Sunday, May 18, at the college's 178th Commencement exercises in Emmitsburg, Md. Goodrich, who majored in psychology, received a Bachelor of Science degree. Mount Saint Mary's, the oldest independent Catholic college in the United States, was founded 1808, and has an undergraduate enrollment of 1,400.
Reduced Fare For Elderly RIO GRANDE - The county Department of Aging reminds Cape May ' County residents 62 and over they are eligible for N.J. Transit's Reduced Fare Program. Reduced fares apply weekdays (during off-peak L hours) between 9:30 a.m. and 4 p.m., and between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m., as well as all day Saturdays, Sundays, and state holidays. Persons between 62 and 64 can obtain applications for an ID card in the aging office. Persons eligible for Medicare need only present their Medicare cards. 0 y DR. MARK DENNIS Call Him j Doctor ERMA - Mark S. Dennis, son of Audrey Dennis of this community and Mark C. Dennis of New Iberia, La., recently received his Doctor of Medicine degree from Louisiana State Medical School in New Orleans. The brother of Diana L. DeNote of Lower Township, Dennis grew up in Erma and is a 1974 graduate of Lower Township Regional High School. He was graduated magna cum laude from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a bachelor's degree in biology. DENNIS PLANS one year of internship at Ochsner Hospital in New Orleans,, followed by a three-year residency in anesthesiology at the University of Florida in Gainesville. He is married to the former Donna Li ride ma nn of New Orleans, and they are expecting their first child in late fall. Dennis is the grandson of Helen Dennis of Cape May.
