Here's Dolly jtL ~— * By Dolly Stango J

It happened right here in Cape May. Several members of the faculty and post-doctorate representatives of the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health presented a seminar at the Sevilla. 5 Perry St., — the home of Riley W. Regan, who is finishing his doctorate in Public Health with the school. Also in attendance was Shephard Kellam, M.D., chairman of the Mental Hygiene School of Mental Health at Johns Hopkins. The group stayed the "weekend as guests of Regan, and all enjoyed Cape May so much they want to come back again. IT WAS THE last meeting for the season — and indeed, a very interesting and enjoyable one. The Cape May Mayor's Advisory Committee with most of its members, including two new ones, Tony Bevivino and Eleanor Rutherford, along with Mayor Arthur Blomkvest, discussed many important and vital issues. Climax of the meeting was the presentation of a very large painting of the late John Wayne, the actor now deceased, by Shirley Stiles, also a member of the committee. Shirley's gift was to the mayor because it has long been understood how much Wayne was a favorite of his. The portrait had been in Stiles' home for many years and the artist was a

friend. But, Shirley said, she had enjoyed it so much, now it was the mayor's turn. As chairperson of the committee, I too, swallowed hard to keep my emotions in check, remembering when Shirley's husband, Pete now deceased, also took pride in having this magnificent piece of art in his home. Plaudits to you, Shirley! Our Mayor advised he would cherish the painting of his favorite actor. JULY 4th in Cape May is going to be the best ever with so much planned — starting with a parade at 11 a.m. down Beach Drive. Then a dance show at Convention Hall at 12:30 p.m., a lawn picnic at 2 p.m. at Congress Hall Motel and for the evening: 7:30 p.m. the Atlantic Brass Band, Victorian Bandstand; 8 p.m. Congress Hall Follies and 9 to 11 p.m. dancing tq A1 Raymond's Four in Con- * vention Hall. A fireworks extravaganza will be staged 9 p.m. at Congress Hall Beach. The Chamber of Commerce is offering red, white and blue bunting by the yard for outside decorations and little flags (tiny ones) to decorate lawns and porches within plants, etc. Anyone interested can contact Shirley Stiles at 884-5999, 5329. Anyone interested in helping defray the cost of >he fireworks planned should also contact Shirley or the chamber. 1 GET WELL. Mrs. John ■ Steinmetz, wife of Admiral ■ (ret.)
