Bulk Trash Pickup Slated in Middle

COURT HOUSE - Middle Township Committeeman James Alexis announced last week that bulk item pickup is scheduled June 9 through 20. According to Alexis, "We will be collecting items in two phases. Hand Avenue is designated as the north/south boundary. June 9 through 13, the northern section of the township will be serviced. "June 16 through 20, the southern section will be completed. Items are to be placed neatly at curbside the day before scheduled pickup in each sector. "Once the township trucks go through a neighborhood, they will not return. There will be one pickup only. This pickup is for private residences only. No commercial establishments will be serviced." Items such as TVs, sofas, chairs, carpeting and recyclable metals will be honored for pickup. Commercial establishments

will not be serviced nor will the township be picking up wooden sheds, building or additional demolition debris, general garbage and trash.

Residents are asked to corporate during this period. The designated north/south boundary area will be patrolled and violations will be dealt with accordingly. Alexis stated, "we want to keep offering bulk-item pickup as & service to our residents, but the township cannot expend itself as it has in the past. Let's observe the conditions and procedures for bulk-item pickup for the good of all."

Bennington Urges Caution NORTHFIELD - Congressional candidate Alfred "Bud" Bennington is urging South Jersey residents to maintain a sense of caution following U.S. Environmental Protection Agency decision to delay burning toxic wastes off the coast of Cape May. The Republican also criticized incumbent ocean incineration by not opposing it from the start." Bennington said that when the idea of a test bum was first broached in 1985, Hughes expressed support for the project if it could be done safely.
