"I fell it is absurd that the Transportation Department devotes this time, the beginning of our summer vacation season and the opening of the Elks Convention, to decide to do road work on the only access route direcUy into our city," Vinci added, "particularly since we were guaranteed that all North Wildwood Boulevard repairs would be cleaned up prior to the Memorial Day weekend which launches our busy season. "It is essential that any repairs be done during the winter and early spring months, as I have repeatedly requested, in order not to block this twolane grossly antiquated highway," he continued. "Situations like this make it even more essential that the state proceed with the greatest possible speed on its plan to modernize and rebuild this highway. "My office has been I flocked with calls of protest from members of the business community, other residents and more importantly, our visitors, who have been caught in the traffic blockages that extend from New Jersey Avenue in our city all the way to the Garden State Parkway, and in both directions," Vinci griped.
