Honor, Mayor Mike Mcllale. A very prudent choice! Just shows how much they learned in eight years. . JUST HEARD of a great idea. Don McDermott. beach tag director, wanted to create some incentives for the collectors. He wondered out loud if maybe the restaurants in town would donate a meal or two. So far he has received favorable responses for

either a breakfast, lunch or dinner for two from Canal 42, the Ocean Drive; Lucci Restaurant, (formerly Romano's > ; the Dutch Corner; Maria's Lunch. (Maria DiGiacamo's Hot Dogs); and Landis Market. That is a most generous gesture by these establishments and I'm quite sure there will be others. The "Adopt a Turtle" campaign is moving right along. Already there are over 20 adoptive parents George Ramsey was one of the first and he named his turtle - Mayor Mike Mcllale. For $5 you get adoption papers and the right to name your turtle. Inquire at the beach tag office. The turtle signs are 4 sprouting around town and < we all should be "turtle conscious." DOESN'T THE paving on Landis Avenue look and feel great? Had an interesting chat with Postmaster Dolores Sweetman this week. She has some good tips for both visitors and the "natives" I to avoid unnecessary delays in delivering mail. First, advise all correspondents to use your ? apartment number and zip code on your mail and. be aware it is against Postal ) policy to deliver mail. ; especially checks, under doors or into defective or » unlocked mail boxes. » * * * ) The AT&T strike thrust i Sea Isle right into tho Big s City TV limelight. Our antiquated equipment is news to those city slickers but. No, it's not true that we still have those contraptions that hang on wall which you crank when you want to call. But this media aty tention may help us get y more sophisticated equipment in the not too distant future.

LAST WEEKEND we got the newsletter off to the printer. I met the mayor at the beach tag office to see if we could get a few volunteers to address them. Lo and behold, two angels were sent down from up above. Kathy Geibel and a ladyfriend were in the office buying tags and volunteered to address all of them.

J There were about 4.500 H newsletters and they adS dressed them and j separated them in a little over 24 hours. Thank you. girls, we shall forever be grateful to you. SAW PICTURES r Charley Gillespie took of "Hands Across Sea Isle" ; and there really was an im- > pressive turnout Charley i is quite adept with the , camera. Maybe 1 can perI suade Mr Zelnik to include > pictures with this column. (ED. NOTE May be )
