By Libby Demp Forrest SWEET JUNE. Summer is peaking — and the sounds, scents and abundant bloom season our senses. June is a perfect month for getting married, getting out of school and getting onto the beaches. Bees make humming music as they dart from flower to flower, fulfilling the commands of instinct; teenage boys often seem to follow that same instinct as we observe them on the boardwalk. *** Speaking of the boardwalk there isn't anything quite so appealing on a summer evening as a stroll on one of the local boardwalks. Fashions may change and hairdos may go up or down, but season after season we've observed the same goings on. Seems to be a timeless drawing card for the tourists as well as the natives. SATURDAY IS FLAG DAY; long live Betsy Ross. We were raised in Philadelphia and Betsy's narrow house at Third and Arch streets always fascinated us. We loved to climb the narrow, angled stairs to reach the children's bedroom with its' display of old dolls. We enjoy going back to Betsy's house now and then H although the staircase seems less appealing nowadays than during our childhood. While summer abounds, what a great L m
time to go dining. Here are some local restaurants for you and yours to try: SYLVESTER'S.
