1 Chalfonte Unveils Events

J CAPE MAY - Summer J entertainment events at a the Chalfonte Hotel, inJ eluding its Concerts by Candlelight series on Thursdays and several weekend attractions, have been announced. The candlelight concerts, beginning Thursday, June 19, will be offered 8:30 p.m. Thursdays and may be enjoyed as part of a dinner/concert package. Reservations are necessary for the dinner/concert and are suggested for the concerts. THE CONCERT schedule is: June 19: Philomel — Baroque ensemble original instruments. June 26: Bach Aria Consort — voice, harpsicord J and Baroque trumpet. B July 3: Festive Brass — pieces for brass from Renaissance to jazz. July 10: Pamela Gore — f American folk songs and spirituals. July 17: The Rittenhouse

Quartet — two violins, cello and viola. July 24: Philomel — Baroque ensemble. July 31: Olde City Wind Ensemble — chamber music for flute, oboe, french horn and bassoon. Aug. 7: Edward Schultz Karin Fuller and Joyce Ramee — flute, harp, and viola. Aug. 14: Grycky Taggert Duo — classical guitar and flute. Aug. 21: Cynthia Peterson piano — Gershwin, Ravel, Ives. Aug. 28: Bach Aria Consort of Philadelphia. Sept. 4: Festive Brass. ALSO SLATED at the Chalfonte are the following: Dr. Frederick Taylor. Jazz pianist and Chairman of Music Department at Cheyney University, will perform in the Playroom adjacent to the bar Friday and Saturday 9:30 p.m.-l а.m. June 13, 14; July 25. 26, and Aug. 8, 9. The Savoy Opera Co. of Philadelphia the oldest amateur Gilbert and Sullivan opera company in the world, will perform selections from Ruddigore and other Gilbert and Sullivan operas as part of a dinner/concert package Saturday evening, July 12. AN APPEARANCE of Sodabread — Traditional Irish Music, will take place Gems Plan July Revue CAPE MAY - The Gems held their May meeting at the Winchester Inn here. Discussion centered the upcoming Rock-A-Way Revue Extravaganza. Proceeds from this venture are earmarked for the Gems Scholarship Fund. Showtime is 3 p.m. July б, in Cape May Convention Hall.
