Guess what? You'll be happy to learn that Callie, the little Calico kitten adandoned by the roadside, has now found a new home. I will be visiting with her shortly to bring a "house gift" and also to give a few hugs of my own. Callie has surely warmed so many hearts — I've been stopped so many times asking about her. Many seniors at Victorian Towers would have loved to take Callie, but no pets are allowed. The same goes for the Housing Authority Project on Lafayette Street, where pets are allowed but a $600 deposit is required to make sure pets are not going to damage the premises. Nevertheless, Callie is happy now — and needless to say, so am I. HERE'S A SALE to beat all sales. Thrift Shop at Our Lady Star of the Sea in Cape May is having a $1 per bag (Acme large size) sale. Items which can be included are dresses, slacks, underwear, men's shirts and slacks, and children's wear. The shop is open every Friday and Saturday 10 a.m.-4 p.m., and located in the basement with entrance on Ocean Street where the sign indicates. Go in to browse. Proud grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. William Dwyer of West Cape May. THE RECENT Quilt and Decoy Show sponsored by the Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts (MAC) was a huge success. Many thanks go to the many volunteers, exhibitors, dealers and even to the public for dedicated help and support. This event was enjoyed by many. Don't forget, same time, same place next year, too! It's the end of many years of having a lovely women's apparel shop in our midst here in Cape May. The Margaret Mary Shoppe has closed its doors, with owners Peg and Mary Mogck, wanting to "take it easy" for a change. They'll continue to make their home in Village Greene also in Florida.
