I Resort Host Air Show
I NORTH WILDWOOD - The Tourist Development Commission will sponsor an Air Show on the beach. 18th and 19th avenues. 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday. The show will be conducted by the county WASP's Club (Wireless Air Sport Pilots). It will be the second annual exhibition by the club and arranged for by the tourism gorup, headed by local motel owner George Yencsik. , Fritz Krause, another motel owner, is event chairman and a WASP member. The show is expected to attract hundreds of pilots and planes of every variety from a four state area ( Pa.. N.Y.. Del. & N.J.), Krause said. Altogether. 37 clubs with more than a 1000 total members, have been invited. Some of the aircraft to be flown are a World War II B-17 bomber. Corsairs and ducted jet models. Built to scale, there are also racers, helicopters and an ultra-light craft. " This should provide great fun for the entire family," Yencsik said. The Tourism Commission hopes to keep it going as an annual affair. Plans are currently being discussed for a fall fun flight program in an effort to extend the September season, he noted. Krause noted, too, that the cost of the various modes! run from $500 to $1,500. He expects most of the 52 members of the local club to show up at some time during the show. There will also be a display of the various aircraft.
