If two weeks from Friday is the Fourth of July, then you know what is coming next! Yes, that's right: the 37th Annual Antique Show and Sale sponsored by the Stone Harbor Women's Civic Club Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, July 7, 8 and 9. Among the members meeting last week with cochairs Toddy Keiton and Dorothy Stump were Polly Bowen. Fran Van Ness, Jean Kollo, Ellie Smith. Addie Young. Thelma Yeager. Mary Conwell, Marie Spence and Peg Grimes. Cards entitling the bearer to a reduced admission are available at the S.H. Borough Hall, 95th and Second Avenue or at the Chamber of Commerce Office on 96th Street. STONE HARBOR'S

chamber of Commerce is moving into high gear in preparing for a magnificent Fourth of July celebration. Over 40 members are responsible for making this a memorable event. Just some of the people involved in this year's celebration under the direction of Jack Fitxpatrick are Russ Wade, Frank Smith. Scott Daniels, Al Meadowcroft, Jim Berger, and Ted Reese. Opening ceremonies are at 9:45 a.m. at the 81st Street recreational area. The day is filled with games, contests for all ages, and everyone will enjoy the "big band sound" of The Serenades, set for 7:30 p.m. at the 96th Street parking lot. THERE WAS a delightful candlelight installation ceremony at Middle Township High School's National Honor Society banquet recently. Among the inductees selected on the basis of their scholarship, leadership, service, and character. Pamela Meadowcroft of Stone Harbor and, from Avalon: Heidi Bischoff, Robert Dean, Teresa Rieser, Jennifer Rodgers and Rachael Schulz. WHEN SCULPTOR Jerry Lynch was designing the baptismal font for St. Paul's Catholic Church in S.H., his wife Cheryl came with him one day and met Father Michael Orsi. Being a portrait painter herself, she knew a good subject when she saw one | and requested the opportunity to make drawings, j Last week the picture, completed in pastel, matted and framed, was presented to Father Orsi's parents during the parish's annual dinner, which also observed his 10th anniversary to the priesthood, j Thank you Gracine McMenamy for this report. ' Jerry and Skip Gladue of Stone Harbor recently attended the debut performance of their son Jim's original composition for the 21 -member Contemporary Music Ensemble at St. Vincent's Church, Madison. "Sepher Tehhillum" (Book of Praise) was composed as an independent study project at Ithaca College. where Jim is now a junior cinema major with a minor in audio production and a liberal arts music emphasis. HE WROTE IT on a New England Digital Synclavier II with a music printing option. After many hours of programming the end result was a finished printed score of a quality comparable to purchased sheet music, with two vocal parts, piano, two trumpets and a flute and chords for guitar and bass. Before leaving for college be had been a member of the Contemporary Ensemble for four years. He plays several instruments, including the trumpet, flugelhorn, keyboard and French horn. Currently employed by the Morris County Park Commission, he will be

vacationing with his parents in August. LAST WEEK it was a double graduation, this week it is a triple for the family of James and Barbara Penders. 85th and First Avenue. Son Michael graduated recently from Seton Hall Law School. Son Steve, a S.H. lifeguard for three years, graduated from Yale

University with a B.A. in economics. Also, he received the Nathan S. Hall Memorial Trophy for outstanding service and dedication to Yale football, in which he lettered for three years. Beth Ann graduated last Friday night as valedictorian of her class at St. Vincent Grammar School, Madison. (Page 17 Please)
