By Libby Demp Forrest COLOR IT SUMMER starting this Saturday when the summer solstice make its' debut at 12:30 a.m. What will you be doing at that time? (Enjoying yourself, we hope. After all, that's what summer is all about.) Summer is full of treats for the eye, the ear, the nose and yum, yum, the tummy, Yum, yum for ice cream. Fortunately, this is an area that loves its' ice cream. On a hot day ice cream is the perfect way to get air-conditioned. Don't you agree? I * • 0 THE GOOD OLD SUMMERTIME for the kids means FREEDOM ! We used to saunter down to the old schoolhouse on the last day of school just to see those prisoners released for the year. What exhiliration! Hercules unchained! The feet and the spirit take wings on that last day Id of school. • • • We've already passed Mother's Day and Father's Day, and the year is moving on, moving on. The next big holiday coming up is of course. Independence Day. And for those for like to plan ahead, need we remind you that Christmas falls exH actly six months from next Wednesday. * * * Since the official start of summer is just a few days away, our suggestion is celebrate it to the fullest with lots of

restaurant hopping. The county's restaurants are all open and hoping you'll stop by. Here are some several places we think are tops : ED ZABERER'S. Extraordinary is just about the best word to describe Ed Zaberer's enormous restaurant located just off exit 6 southbound of the Garden State Parkway in North Wildwood. Of course, incredible, fantastic and out of his world are also other words to describe it. Ed Zaberer is the host of the coast, offering an incredible number of choices (everything from a special children's menu) to Jumbo Rock Lobster Tail, his famous, Zaberized drinks — that means king size, and Zaberized desserts like the fantastic Strawberry Shortcake. The broiled seafood combination is always a favorite. Other choices on the huge menu include barbeque ribs, roast prime rib (Zaberized cut), and shrimps stuffed with crabmeat. TORTILLA FLATS. You can now enjoy a Mexican fiesta at Tortilla Flats two locations — Pacific Ave., Wildwood (next to Cheers) and 2540 Dune Drive, Avalon. both open seven days. The menu includes Empanadas (baked spicy sausage filled Mexican pastries), a fantastic Avocado Salad, Steak and Enchilada, Aztec Pie, and a great Tex-Mex burger. Desserts include Kahlua Mousee. Peanut Butter Pier, Key Lime Pie and Mexican Fried ice cream. Fried ice cream? Yes, yes, yes — give it a try. Yum. Yum. URIE'S. The long established Urie's restaurants greet people the minute they

cross the bridge into Wildwood. Located on Rio Grande Avenue, Urie's Fish Fry, and Urie's Reef and Beef keep open daily, serving some of the best food in the Wildwood area. Urie's Eish Fry is the daddy of the operation — with its' famous Porthole Lounge, gift shops, snack room, take out store, dockside bar and of course, familiar nautical restaurant. Across the street, Urie's Reef and Beef offers the Pegleg Lounge featuring "The Great Lorenzo", Fri. and Sat. from 9 to 2 a.m. Food excellence is the hallmark of both restaurants. The same great service and I great thirst quenching drinks remain unmatched. * * • HENNY'S. Yes, Henny's is still Henny's, as great as ever in the same H familiar location at 97th and Third Avenue, in the heart of Stone Harbor's shopping district. Yes, George Johnson is still at the Steinway Friday and Saturday nights, playing all those favorites of yours and ours. The daily luncheon open-Salad bar is still served Monday-Saturday 11:30 to 3, and Sunday from 12 to 3. Yes, the veggies are as fresh as ever. And yes, the crowd is as friendly and fun loving. Open seven days a week, Henny's is still the place to come for a great meal and a great time.
