Day Luncheon was held at the Gethsemane Baptist Church in Woodbine June 15. Mrs. Anna K. Smith of Belleplain. presented a poem she prepared especially for the event. THERE WASN'T one person who didn't smile last Tuesday morning when it was announced that the two winners of the $5.000, 000-plus Pick Six were a delightful couple wed 45 years from somewhere north of Mays Landing. They got publicity, as do all winners, but somehow it seems a bit unfair to mention merely the winners when so many contribute to their success. So. how about a tribute to the losers? To paraphrase Ole' Abe. God must love em. he made so many of them, but like Rodney Dangerfield. they "don't get no respect ". According to my unreliable sources, to list a few. I first mention my husband. Owen, and his sporting buddies, Al and Frankie D'Lorenzo, the Clark boys, Eddy. Bobby and Dick. Tony and Lou Adoranto. Lou McCormick. Bill Smith. Keith Seaman, Bob Brown, Bill Parker and Ort Harris and on and on. They tried. A little respect. ...please. ' MARY MOORE, also as Mrs. Santa Claus, now residing at the Cape Care Center, requests of fabric and dolls the community Mrs. Moore is preparing gifts for the poor children of our county, as she has for over 50 years, from her room at the Care Center.
