I Old House I Tour First ! DENNISVILLE - The L Dennis Township Historical ( Society is sponsoring its first I annual Old House Tour and J Crafts Demonstration 10 | a.m. -4 p.m. Saturday, June I 28. Tickets will be on sale at I the Methodist Church Social * Hall on Main Street in I Dennisville. The tour will include 16 | homes throughout the I township, dating from the | early 1730's through 1860, as well as three churches and an adjoining cemetary. Six craft demonstrations, including spinning, weaving, quilting, stenciling, caning and old hand tools will be held at various homes.

Busy, Glorious 4th For Stone Harbor

From a candy scramble for those up to age 6 to a big band concert for all, the Stone Harbor Chamber of Commerce has planned a glorious day-long celebration for the country's birthday July 4. Opening ceremonies are at 9:45 a.m. at 8lst Street. Morning activities include foot races, Phillies home run derby, candy scramble, and slow bike races. At noon the decorated bike contest will get underway for those up

to 18. Categories include best decorated, most colorful and most original. THE SAND sculpture contest will start at 12:30 p.m. at the 81st Street beach, with judging at 2:30 p.m. Meanwhile the frisbee contest for 10-15, 16-21, and over 22 will begin at 1 p.m. Contestants are advised to register in the morning for the derby, decorated bike, and sculpture and frisbee competitions. All daytime events are scheduled for the 81st Street Recreational Fields, and prizes and trophies will be awarded in all events for each age group. The Serenaders will bring the big band sound to the 96th Street Parking lot at 7:30 p.m. for a majestic close to the day's events. Those attending are advised to bring their own chairs. All events are free of charge, sponsored by the Stone Harbor Chamber of Commerce. Raindate is July 5, except for the concert.
