CCC Plans ' Orientation For Jobless : VINELAND — !■ Cumberland County College will be conducting a free Unemployed Persons Program (UPP) orientation session June 23 at 2 p.m. in Lecture Hall I. Under the program, the college will be offering during the fall semester career-related courses free of tuition for eligible unemployed persons. CCC implemented UPP in January 1985, and since then numerous unemployed persons have taken and completed career-related courses, free of charge, according to Joseph Hibbs, assistant dean of students. ••UNDER THE guidelines, unemployed persons or those who have been working for at least two years and have been laid off may be eligible for the program," Hibbs said. The dean stressed that only those who attend the orientation or have attended orientations held in July and November 1985 will be considered for fall semester enrollment under UPP. "New applicants must attend the orientation," Hibbs said. DURING the orientation, the purpose of UPP as well as its requirements will be discussed. College officials will outline admission procedures and explain course and program offerings. Also, Job Service representatives will be on hand to discuss their criteria for determining eligible participants.
