Auxiliary Offers i Boat Inspections

CAPE MAY — Having a boat examined free by the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary could save lives. Having the necessary equipment to save lives aboard a boat in time of need improves operator and passengers' chances of survival.

This includes a PFD (life jacket) for each person plus one throwable device. The Coast Guard Auxiliary volunteers have been taught to examine craft for safety, to see if boats meet federal and state laws, plus safety equipment recommended by the auxiliary to help save your life. WHEN OWNERS receive this free courtesy marine examination and pass, the Coast Guard Auxiliary's "Seal of Safety" decal is applied to each boat. It lets the law enforcement officers know that the boat meets their standards. If a craft fails the examination, no citation is issued. However, you are given a check -sheet so that you can equip your boat to qualify for the Seal of Safety decal. Clinic Set On Tennis CAPE MAY The city will once again offer a tenj nis clinic for ages 7-15 beginning June 23 and run- _ ning through Aug. 29. The class will take place Monday, Wednesday and Friday 10-11 a.m. forages 7-11, and 11 noon for ages 12-15 at the Lafayette Street tennis court. Students must provide their own racquet, with tennis balls being provided. Charles Wise Sr. will instruct both classes. Call the Department of Civic Affairs at 884-8411 ext. 20 for more information. Horse Show For Lupus COLD SPRING - The 11th annual horse show sponsored by the Cape Atlantic Cumberland Lupus Foundation will be held 9 a.m. Saturday, at Hidden Valley Ranch, 4070 Bayshore Road. There will be 41 classes in this English Circuit South Jersey Member Show. The classes include jumping, hunter classes and equitation for all ages.
