' Aerobics Contests Slated

WILDWOOD - Coppertone and local radio station WCMC will sponsor the regional finals of the "Coppertone TANercise National Aerobics Competition" Saturday, July 5, at the bandshell at Montgomery Avenue on the boardwalk. The competition will feature two semi-final events Saturday, June 21, at 8 p.m., and Saturday, June 28, at 6 p.m. These events will have 10-15 competitors, who will be chosen on a first come, first served basis according to registration of participants. EACH CONTESTANT must self-choreograph a 31/2-4 minute solo routine which adheres to all rules and regulations of the competition. Judges, who are from the Aerobics & Fitness Association of America, will be

scoring contestants on a number erf areas of different levels. They will be looking at the contestants' skill and showmanship in performing mandatory exercises, creativity, and form. Five competitors from the two semi-final events will move on to the finals on July 5. The winner of the regional finals will receive an all-expense paid trip for two to Walt Disney World in Orlando Fl, to compete in the national finals, which will be nationall televised. THE NATIONAL winner will receive a 1986 Germanmade Merkur XR4TI from Lincoln Mercury, a sevenday cruise for two aboard one of the Fun Ships of Carnival Cruise lines, a feature layout in SHAPE Magazine. and selected modeling assignments for Coppertone.

Picnic Planned By Rec Panel DENNIS VILLE - The Dennis Township Recreation Commission will hold a special meeting at 7 tonight to discuss the All-Sports Picnic. The meeting will be held in the Dennis Township Municipal Hall here. All Dennis Township * coaches are expected to attend. Following the public meeting, a closed commission meeting will be held to discuss arrangements for the picnic. Penkethman In Exercise STONE HARBOR - Air Force Staff Sgt. Allyn D. Penkethman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert H. Penkethman of 9501 Sunset Dr., has participated in Mapel Flag XVII, an exercise involving U.S., British and Canadian aircrews at Canadian Forces Base Cold Lake. Alberta. Canada. The exercise is designed to increase the combat capability of the aircrews in a densely wooded area closely resembling the plains of central Europe, according to exercise directors. Penkethman is an inventory management supervisor with the 363rd Aircraft Generation Squadron at Shaw Air Force Base, S.C. She is a 1977 graduate of Middle Township High School.
