Burke Builders defeated Carlos O'Brien's and the Cape May Coasties 15-0. LAWS' PRINTING got 4 including 2 home runs and 8 rbi's from Carl to defeat Classic Video 21-7. Ernie Troiano 4 hits, Ted Fen-ante and Bill Cook had 3 hits, with Cook driving in 4 runs. Mike Moore made some outstanding defensive plays in the outfield. ^ Laws' Printing defeated Carlo6 O'Brien's 17-2 as Sherman hit a 3- run run and drove in 4 runs. Bill Cook also had a 3-run home run, with Will Meodo chipping in with 4 hits. Laws' ended the week defeating Reuter Construction 28-6, scoring 19 runs in the third inning. The team got 4-hit games from John Fuller. Will Mendo and Mike Moore. Cook had another 3 run home run, with Ted Ferrante and Carl Umscheid each getting 3 hits. Classic Video remains in the thick of the race after defeating TMU and the Coast Guard Bears 11-8. Cutters Sweep 5 For Title CAPE MAY - The Coast Guard Cutters defeated Pete's Racquet Club to win the Cape May's Coed Recreation Volleyball championship. This match went the limit as the Coast Guard needed five games and won by 13-15, 15-0, 15-7, 9-15 and 15-5. Pete's Racquet Club, coming off a major upset win in the semifinals, played extremely well as Greg Lacivita had some great spikes and Jndy Ricco covered the court well and had some fine sets. THE REMAINING players for Pete's include Greg Martin. Mike John. Bob Ansel), Pete Rteco. Roy Smith, Linda Martin, Stacey Sherretta, Cathie Smith, and Loraine Bianco. The Coast Guard Cutters used outstanding team defense and strong services. especially in the second and fifth games, to win their championship. This very organized team , had a 38-18 regular season record and deserved to be champions. Members of the team include the veteran Wilson Mourino. Gerry Dube. Dave Gerzabek. UT Beaches Will Open Saturday TUCKAHOE - Upper Township beaches will open for the season Saturday. Ceremonies are scheduled for 10 a.m. on the beach at Williams Road in Strathmere. Mayor Daniel Beyel, the township committeemen and Ruth Shaw, recreation director, are expected to be present as the guards are posted for the summer. Township Beach Patrol members who will be stationed at the Beesleys Point Beach will participate in the opening ceremonies before going to their stands at noon. Beach Inspector Richard Alliger says. "The Upper Township beaches are among the finest sandy beaches on the New Jersey Coast." Members of the patrol will guard the beaches at Strathmere and Beesleys Point 10 a.m.-« p.m. through Labor Day.
