Artists to Create At Co. Art Show
OCEAN CITY - The Cape May County Cultural and Heritage Commission is sponsoring its first art show on the Boardwalk here 11-6 p.m. July 5. There will be geographical representation of artists from New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Virginia. For •• visitors who enjoy sports and outdoor physical aci; tivity, there are volleyball U and basketball. There are tennis courts and bike and jogging trails. For chances to picnic and observe nature, almost half the park is a forest containing 24 species of trees. The different trees are identified along the nature and bicycling trails. THE PARK IS also a habitat for wildlife. For birdwatchers, there are 50 species of birds which nest in the area. There are also more than 30 species of animals that live in the park. In addition, the park is « the site for free summer concerts, fairs, flea markets, and other special events. Lorraine Watson of Ocean City, a teacher at the Ocean City Art Center i since 1973, will demonstrate the art of [ Sumi, Oriental brush work. Watson appears in the Who's Who in the World of Women Encyclopedia and displays her art in numerous galleries in the area. Artists wishing to exhibit in this new show can preregister up until the day of the show for a fee (phone 465-7111 ext. 419). Cortlandt Bellavance, associate pro-, fessor of art at Atlantic Community College, will be the judge of the show.
