Concerts Feature Fairless Chorus m

WILDWOOD — The United States Steel Chorus from Fairless Works, PA, will perform two free concerts, June 27, and 28 at 8 p.m., at the bandshell on the boardwalk at Montgomery Avenue. The chorus is sponsored by U.S. Steel, but is an independent, non-profit, volunteer organization, dedicated to the entertainment of fellow employes,

their families, and to community service through music. The chorus started in 1951 when a group of employes banded together and toured the Fairless Works' plant site in the back of a truck singing for their fellow workers and thousands of construction people. THE CHORUS was formally organized as the Fairless Works Male | Chorus by a small group of I men from the various ' departments and positions | at the plant. The chorus roster has expanded to 39 members. They are employed in all departments of steelmaking, from laborers to management, at Fairless Works. The members norI mally meet on their own i time once a week for a two- [ hour rehearsal. | A pre-Christmas weeklong caroling tour covering various hospitals, nursing pj homes, church groups, schools, senior citizen facilities, shopping centers, banks, offices, and several company operations is included in the year's highlights. THE MEN WEAR colorful Charles Dickens era costumes of high hats and Chesterfield coats to add to the spirit of the season. For the past 12 years, the chorus members have sponsored the Fairless "Follies" program, which provides an evening of musical entertainment for several hundred Greater Delaware Valley area residents. Opens Sat. SEA ISLE CITY - The Historical Museum will be open 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. starting Saturday. It's directly behind City Hall, 44th & Landis Ave. The Museum houses a large collection of Sea Isle City history and I memorabilia.

During the rest of the year, they entertain as a community service at church and social clubs, service organizations,
