Tours at Twilight Feature Cottages

CAPE MAY - Cottages at Twilight Tours will open five restored Victorian homes here to the public every Monday evening in July. Sponsored by the MidAtlantic Center for the Arts ( MAC > . this tour covers the interiors of vintage homes, each representing a different form of architecture. The houses on the Cottages at Twilight Tour will be open from 8-10 p.m. Tickets for this tour may be purchased the evening of the tour only at the Dr. Henry L. Hunt House. 209 Congress PI. (starting at 7:45 p.m.). HOUSES ON the tour include: The Dr. Henry L. Hunt House. 209 Congress PI., was built in 1881 . It is one of the more electric Victorian creations in town. Containing elements from most of the styles popular in the 1870s and '80s. The Joseph Q. Williams House, 223 Perry St.. a charming Gothic Revival cottage, has a front section dated 1856 and a much older rear wing. It is furnished in antiques that span the range of Victorian styles. The Joseph Hall Cottage, 645 Hughes St., c. 1868 Features antique furniture, predominantly family pieces, including Civil War memorabilia. Beautiful patterns in tiles and stained glass are repeated throughout the interior

THE WHITE DOVE Cottage. 664 Hughes St. c. 1883. Features walnut and cherry woodwork, marble mantels, Victorian sunporch, family and European antiques. Decorated with sculpture and paintings done by the owners and an outstanding antique doll collection. Windward House, 24 Jackson St.. Built in the Edwardian period, this shingle style house features oak paneling, massive doors, and some of Cape May's finest stained and beveled leaded glass. Victorian clothing and accessories are a special attraction. Food Sale, Bazaar CAPE MAY POINT - The Cape May Point Civic Club will hold its annual food sale and bazaar 9 I a.m. -2 p.m. Saturday, July /, 5, at the firehouse on Yale K Avenue. ft On sale will be home- \ made foods and crafts, v plants, books, white elephants, and lunch. All proceeds go to the club's charities. Breakfast VILLAS — An "all you can eat" breakfast will be held at the Villas Firehouse, Bayshore Road, 7 a.m.-l p.m. Sunday. Included will be pancakes, sausage, eggs, bacon, and home fries. There will also be a cake sale. Pancakes By Kiwanis CAPE MAY - The city Kiwanis Club will sponsor its eighth annual pancake breakfast 7 a.m.-l p.m. Saturday, July 5, at Convention Hall, Beach Drive. Proceeds go to the Kiwanis Club Scholarship Fund, which provides an annual scholarship to an outstanding graduate of Lower Cape May Regional High School.
