CAPE MAY - In B League Softball, the Cape May Coasties moved up into 4th place after defeating TMU 17-5 behind Mike Wert's 4 hits and 8 rbi's. Two of his hits were home runs. Mike Glancy had 3 hits, with Brian Smith getting a homer. Jerry Garriott contributed 2 hits, including a triple. Teh Coasters defeated Cape Radiology earlier in the week 4-3 behind 2-hit games by Pat Krennan. Bo liarner. and Rick Kedinger. STUMPO'S Pizza moved up in the standings by

defeating EECEN, Kindle Ford 17-14 and the Coast Guard Bears 9-7. In the victory over the Bears, Mike Cronin and Scott Martin each had 2 hits including a home run In other games. High School; the 22nd Annual Promenade Art ShowJuly U, 12 and 13; the Jersey Cape Antique Auto Club Run and Show 10 a.m. -2 p.m. July 12 on the Washington Street Mall. Also the 5th Annual Superathlon Lifeguard Championship Monday. July 21 at 5:30 p.m.. starting at Cannone Beach; the 11th Annual Waterfowl and Woodcarving Show July 25 and 26 in Convention Hall and molding out the month, a Sand Sculpture Contest on Stegar Beach BRINGING IN August with a bang will be the 54th Annual Coronation of Queen Maysea 8 p.m. Wednesday. Aug. 6 in Convention Hall. This year's Queen Maysea and her court will be honored that night during festivities presided over by Mayor Arthur Blomkvest. Entertainment will be provided by the Jersey Cape Dance Company and the A1 Raymond Orchestra. On Friday, Aug. 8. Cape May's 54th Annual Baby Parade will march along Beach Drive from Broadway Avenue to Convention Hall beginning 11 a.m. ALL PARADE entries will receive participation ribbons and a chance to win one of 20 trophies to be awarded in six categories; Pretty Baby, Decorated Baby Carriage, Fancy Dress, Comic Dress, Decorated on Wheels and the Carlyle Dennise Memorial Award. Children 12 years old and younger can register at Convention Hall. THE THIRD ANNUAL Mr. and Miss Jersey Cape Contest will be held in Convention Hall 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 2. Former body builder Dr. Jay Depativo from Berlin, N.J. is sponsoring and will coordinate this competition

THE ANNUAL ROTARY Flounder Fry will be held Saturday, Aug. 9. 10 a.m.-O p.m. in the Rotary Park. Rain date is Aug. 10. The weekend will also include the fourth Annual Mall Art Show 10 a.m. -6 p.m. on the 9th and 10th and the 23rd Annual Captain Kidd Treasure Hunt for youngsters 3-10 years old. which will commence from Convention Hall 1 p.m. Captain Davey Kidd will journey to cool" Cape May by water and should arrive soon to bury the treasure that will be hunted for on the 10th. AUGUST 20 will feature the Annual Cape May Kiwanis Dinner and Auction 4-7 p.m. at the Kiwanis Clubhouse. One of the biggest events of the year will be Aug. 16 and 17, the ninth Annual Promenade Craft Show! One hundred fifty skilled craftsmen from Florida to Vermont will participate during the increasingly popular two-day show and sale. Young ladies representing each of the protected beaches of Cape May will participate in the Annual Cape May Beach Patrol Queen Pageant 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 22. in Convention Hall THE MOST unusual and by far the zaniest event sponsored by Cape May is the Annual Clamshell Pitching Tournament directed by Rich Rhinehart and Tom Spear. This year's 40th Annual will be staged on Steger's Beach Aug. 22. 23 and 24 and has been honored by being depicted on this year's weekly beach tags. Registration begins 11 a.m. and quahogs start flying at noon each day. The Macedonia Choir led by Rev. Attendance Recognized Former Wildwood resident Fildes Tresher. now 88, was honored recently by the Brunswick, Ga., Rotary Club for 48 years of perfect Rotary attendance In compiling his record, Tresher attended over 100 different clubs in the United States from Florida to California. , Tresher, who lived in Wildwood from 1902 to 1914, was a school friend of the late Bill Witte, with whom he worked at various Boardwalk jobs as a teenager. Mrs. Flora Witte, the widow, still lives in Wildwood Crest. Tresher, retired since 1979 from his trucking, shipping, and manufacturing interests, live in Brunswick.
