| THE LOOK AND FEEL OF CARPET TEXTURES Mufti-k-vcl loop. Lend loop. Fnexe. Cut pile. Shatf. Vdve t Plush Saxony Plush Cut and Loop pile. Those are the alternative types of surface textures of piles you can choose from when selecting carpeting for your home. Each offers a different look and fed for different moods and settings. Confused? You don't have to be. To help you decide what texture you're looking for in carpeting, we've put together this simple guide: Level-Loop-Pile: This is the most basic pde. It's made of looped tufts which me up and then return to the backing. All the loops are the same height Levelloop offers greater wearing qualities than many of the other textures, but is limited somewhat in surface effects and appearance. Mulu-Levd Loop Pile. This is similar to levd-loop pile, except that the pile height varies providing a more interesting texture. Carpets constructed m this way are frequently referred to as sculptured carpet. Cut Pile. This is loop pde that has been cut on the tufting machine, leaving two tufts in place of the loop. This technique provides today's most appcaliig piles Velvet Plush. This is a cut pile carpet texture with almost no twist "Twist'' is the way a bunch of yam is rotated around its center. Yam is twisted before the carpet is manufactured and can be tight or loose. The tufts of yam in velvet plush pde are very dense and extremely smooth to the touch. Saxony Plush This texture has more twist than the Velvet Plush and a set with heat to gve it permanence and grater stability Fnexe Fnexe is the most highly twisted texture of the cut pde carpet yams Its pde has a pebble effect and is recommended for high traffic areas. Cut and Loop Pile. Cut and Loop combines cut pde and either levd-loop or even mulh-ievel loop pde This enables the creation of an endless vanety of sculptured effects on the carpet pde Shags. Shags are the widely familiar informal carpet with longer tufts. Sandman Honored On Part in Ferry

NORTH CAPE MAY - Officials from the Delaware River and Bay Authority dedicated the Cape May-Lewes Ferry Approach Road here to the late Charles W. Sandman June 17. i A plaque honoring Lower Township's "native son" < was unveiled as Delaware River and Bay Authority Commissioner Jack Sparks said, "Charlie's name should be put over a lot more places. Without him 1 there would be no ferry here."

INSTRUMENTAL in moving for the establishment of the ferry system which links Cape May, with Lewes, Del., Sandman had a lifelong record of community service. Having gained national prominence. Sandman, a resident of Lower Township, was a State Senator, a Representative in the United States House of Representatives and a New Jersey State Superior Court Judge. The plaque, erected on the median strip on the • ferry approach road, reads, "Charles W. Sandman was an outstanding citizen who made a significant contribution to Lower Township, to Cape May County and to New Jersey". THE AUTHORITY renamed the approach road for Sandman following approval of a joint resolution by the Assembly and Senate of New Jersey. At the ceremony, attended by local dignitaries as well as family and friends of Sandman, Delaware River and Bay Authority Chairman Clarence B. McCormick, member of the authority since it was formed in the early 1960's, said, "We are proud of Charles Sandman's efforts on behalf of the ferry system. He was a vital force in creating and maintaining this unique transportation network." FORMER Township Mayor Jack Sparks said, "The Delaware River and Bay Authority is proud to honor Sandman's efforts which culminated in the authority's creation of the Cape May-Lewes Ferry. The ferry started service on July 1, 1964 and now carries 1 million passengers and their vehicles annually." More than 75 people attended the dedication ceremony including Authority Director William J. Miller Jr., as well as authority commissioners from New Jersey, William A. Gemmel, Walter F.W. Maack, Angelo J. Falciani and Jack Sparks, and Delaware Commissioners Garrett B. Lyons, DDS, Vice Chairman , Remsen C. Barnard III, Alfred Leo Donnelly, Francis A. DiMondi and James Julian -
