Workshop On Drama At SJRT SOMERS POINT - South Jersey Regional Theatre has something new to offer this summer. For the first time in its 10-year history. SJRT will offer a "Scene Study Workshop". The eight-week session begins July 7 and will con- ft tinue every Monday and S Wednesday through Aug. ft 27. Jl Representative ft American Dramatists such jj as Sam Sheppard. David > Mamet. Marsha Norman, ( Tennessee Williams and ^ others will be studied in a s seminar incorporating play analysis, scene work and performance. THE WORKSHOP will be conducted by resident SJRT state manager Joanna Papada, who holds a Master of Fine Arts degree in directing from the Pennsylvania State University. She has accrued stage managing credits from such off-broadway theatres as The Ensemble Studio Theatre. Theatre for the New City and Theatreworks USA. She will choose four plays from among the 20th Century American Dramatists. Workshop time (six hours a week) will be divided between script analysis: plot, character, conflict, climax, resolution and theme, scene rehearsal and performance. REGISTRATION for the eight-session is open to individuals with basic acting experience. For addition information call the theatre. 653-0553. Drive Set By Kitcanis The Kiwanis Club of Lower Township will hold its annual Peanut Day Aug. 16. with proceeds going to the club's scholarship fund. Bags of peanuts are given away by the Kiwanians at selected locations, and donations are accepted. The money is used for scholarships to Lower Cape May Regional High School. This year's winner was Christine A. Kelzhan. Peanuts will be given away at Shoprite. Rio Mall, Village Shoppes, Rio Grande; Shop 'n Bag shopping center, and the North Cape May Shopping Center. Anyone wishing to contribute before Peanut Day can send donations to Lower Township Kiwanis Club, 904 Main St., Erma Park, N.J. 08204.
