Parishes Over Top In Appeal

CAMDEN -Ten of the 14 parishes in Cape May County reached or surpassed their goals in the 1986 House of Charity Appeal, it was announced by the Diocese of Camden, with the county overall contributing 101 percent of its goal. Cape parishes wich exceeded their quotas and the amounts raised are: Maris Stella, Avalon, $24,465; Our Lady Star of the Sea, Cape May City, $28,767; Our Lady of the Woodbine Gets New Pastor CAMDEN — Bishop George H. Guilfoyle announced this week the appointment of Fr Robert 0. Yori, director of the Spanish Catholic Center, Vineland, as pastor of St. Casimir parish. Woodbine, effective Aug. 1. Fr. Yori replaces Msgr. Robert B. Ervin, who died in April. A replacement for Fr. Yori at the Spanish Catholic Center will be announced later. A native of Hazelton, Pa., Fr. Yori was ordained to the priesthood in Camden in May 1961 following studies at Mt. St. Mary Seminary, Emmitsburg, Md. He served as associate pastor at St. John's, Collingswood, and chaplain at Ancora State Hospital. Fr. Yori was assigned to Spanish studies at the Catholic University of Puerto Rico in September 1967, where he remained until his appointment to the Spanish Catholic Center in • May 1968. Food Sale At Bazaar VILLAS — The Women of St. Barnabas Episcopal Church will hold a food sale in conjunction with their annual bazaar at the Parish House, 13 W. Bates Ave., 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, July 12. Luncheon will be served 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Bazaar Set Cape May — A bazaar and food sale will be held Saturday, July 12, 9 a.m. at Cape Island Baptist Church, Columbia and Guerney Streets, Cape May. The Women's Society will use the proceeds for the work of the missionaries they sponsor.

The worship service at 11 a.m. is preceded by Sunday School in Price Hall 9:30 a.m. The Adult Class meets in the church at 9:45 a.m. with coffee time afterwards. The Special Projects Committee of the UPW will hold its annual bazaar Saturday, July 19, at Price St. Peter's, At Point CAPE MAY POINT - The Rev Michael J. Shank, rector of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, Collingswood. will conduct services at St. Peter's by the Sea Episcopal Church here Sunday, with Holy Communion at 9 and 11 a.m. Juice will be served after the 11 o'clock service, weather permitting. Bible on the beach sessions are Monday mornings at 10 on the church lawn. For anyone wishing to join the choir, practice is approximately 10:15 after the 9 o'clock service. All are welcome. The Annual bazaar will be Wednesday, Aug. 13, on the church grounds. "Christian Liberty" NORTH WILDWOOD - Central Bible Church Pastor, Dr. Alvin Baker will preach a message on I Corinthians 9:19-23, entitled "Christian Liberty" during 10:45 a.m. services Sunday. For the 7:00 p.m. service the message "Deliverance through The Spirit", taken from Romans 8:2., will be delivered. July 7-18, from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The curriculum will include Bible lessons, music, games and crafts. Supervision will be by Su Cochran and Kay Jeffrey of the Bible Christian Union.
