Board Approves ACC Pay Boosts

MAYS LANDING - The board of trustees of Atlantic Community College approved pay increases for a number of employes at its meeting here June 24. Based on a recent agreement on compensation between the ACA Faculty Association and the college, the board approved a base salary increase of $2,600 for fiscal year 1986/87 for culinary faculty effective July 1. The raises represent eight percent of the average salary for each group, the same percentage being received this year by the college's unionized employees who are in the third year of a three-year contract. The board agreed to pay $205,799 for the college's liability insurance coverage. This did not include coverage for the board of trustees which the college has been unable to obtain. The trustees will be without liability insurance as of July 1. The college is exploring a number of options and will notify trustees as soon as the situation is resolved. THE TRUSTEES also voted to retain the Hillier Group, a Princeton architectural firm, for $9.1 million in upcoming construction projects. The projects include $6,625,000 for a new freestanding Academy of Culinary Arts facility and a total of $2,485,330 for construction of a development • studies/English as a Second Language center, a library addition and a technology center. The Hillier Group has developed the college master plan as well as concept documents for the construction projects and a proposed 200. -bed dormitory.
