Letting New Moms Go Home Earlier .

SOMERS POINT - ShoreCare, a home health care affiliate of Shore Memorial Hospital in Atlantic County, is now offering the Early Maternity Discharge Program of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Jersey to its patients. The program went into effect June 1. Under the program, explained Joe Aiello, ShoreCare director, a mother and infant, who have the benefit and are discharged with their physician's approval within 48 hours following admission, receive basic Blue Cross and Blue Shield home care benefits. "For low risk deliveries, hospital stays of 10-14 days or even 3-6 days are no longer considered necessary. Now adays, many physicians view childbirth as a normal part of life — not as a disease or medical problem." People interested in participating in the Early Maternity Discharge Program of Blue Cross should call ShoreCare at 646-1776 ext. 21. All direct pay subscribers and many groups have this benefit.

Plants are judged on growth habits, freedom from problems, color and quantity of blooms, and length of flowering effectiveness. GARDENERS looking for summer-long color will be pleased with the perfor- I mance of ageratum Blue Danube, sweet alyssum Oriental Night, and r begonia varieties Linda, I Viva, Gin and Scarlanda. Impatiens are now available in a wide range of colors and bloom from early June until frost. Dependable impatiens series in last year's Rutgers garden included the Cascade Beauties, Futura, Novette, Princess, Super Elfin and || Blitz. Dwarf French marigolds will flower throughout the summer tfriead flowers are removed regularly. Janie Gold, Petite Yellow, Honeycomb and Queen Sophia received high marks last year.
