Full Council Acts On Building Delay
By SKIP GLADUE STONE HARBOR - For the first time in several meetings. Stone Harbor had a full council for its July 1st session at which action was taken to curb unfinished construction. An ordinance was passed unanimously on first reading stating the completion of building and improvements must take place within 18 months with a penalty of $1,000 or 90 days in jail or both. Also, each day the violation continues would be considered a separate of-
fense. Exceptions would be granted for financial hardship or unforeseen circumstances. A public hearing, second and final reading are scheduled for Aug. 5. COUNCIL president Eric Arenberg, chairman of the public safety committee, reported that the fire siren will not be sounded between 11:30 p.m. and 6 a.m. "However," he said, "if we don't have enough people the siren will go." Also a fire truck will respond for every motor vehicle accident in which injuries are involved.
