It's official: at the recent Cape May School Board special meeting it was decided that students who in the winter attend Star of the Sea School here and whose parents are property owners can now attend summer school at Cape May Elementary if needed Up until now. this was not the practice, but the decision was resolved after a complaint was registered with the Mayor's Advisory Board, who then pursued it with the school board, thus bringing the matter to a satisfactory conclusion enabling taxpayers who have school-age children to participate in the city's summer school program. It has also been resolved that due to the delay, children requiring this ad ditional summer school tutoring may register at this late date and still be included and for the future, be prepared to avail themselves of this summer school program CONGRATULATIONS to Sister M. Josephine Rothschild— it's her 50th year as a Sister with the Grey Nuns of the Sacred Heart. A Mass of Celebration was offered at Our Lady of the Sea Church July 8, with Sister Mary Charlotte Barton, superior general of the Grey Nuns, present to receive the renewal of Sister Josephine's vows. Following the Mass by Msgr. Patrick J. Madden, pastor, a reception for Sister Josephine was prepared by the Altar and Rosary Society ladies in the church "Dugout" — family and friends attended along with the Grey Nun Sisters. In case you didn't know, the Knights of Columbus have once again started their Tuesday night bingo at Star of the Sea Parish Hall at 7:30 p.m. Lots of goodies being prepared by all the Knights' wives and prizes are great ! GET WELL Dept. to Ray Schultz of Cape May back
from the hospital and on his way to recovery... also to Phyli6s Train! (Marine Bank teller) back home after surgery on both hands and now being carefully cared for by hubby. Gene. Also to Marie Momat, still hospitalized, but making plans to return home soon. Helen Gregowski, back home after surgery, is now doing nicely says hubby, Frank. HAPPY. HAPPY birthday to Tom D' Amico of Victorian Towers. He's 96 years young now and watching him go to the casinos, shopping, and buying odds and ends to make the various lamps he's interested to put together, surely he doesn't look a day over 76. Tom prepares his own meals, and also manages to keep up his lovely apartment too. The West Side Market ( formerly Douglass ) has added something new it's a complete section of all soft drinks in what used to be the storage part of the building. Handsome Tony, the butcher, will make up whatever you want in the way of steaks. . only you have to do your own cooking! West Cape May is becoming famous now as all find their way to this market with lots of parking space. MORE BIRTHDAYS... this time to Mildred Menz, housekeeper for over 31 years to Msgr Madden (now pastor of Star of the Sea...) Mildred celebrated with a dinner party for a chosen few at her cousin's... and needless to say, her favorite restaurant, Menz's. Happy birthday, to Rev. Robert O. Davis, pastor of Macedonia Baptist Church in Cape May — he's forever young — I can see him laughing even how as he reads this. She's Carol Juliano of the Burdette-Tomlin Memorial Hospital Volunteer squad. Her post is on the second floor near the I.C.U. ( Inten-
sive Care Unit), where she readily helps all visitors find patients, and even to getting a glass of water for someone in need Other volunteers giving lots of smiles and help are Cecille Jarvis and Helen Hunter, all veterans of many years' service. They make visitors feel welcome and offer help beyond the call of duty.
