Inlet Road Bids Opened E. Riley Miner, of Goshen. Lowest Bidder At $70,670 For Corson's inlet Road; Does Not Include Rndyrs; Asarditg Contract Deferred; ' Other
Bids for the Corson’s Inlet-Ocean City Road were opened at the meetinjr of the Board of Chosen Freeholder* last Tuesday. The bidders were:
Hill Dredging Co., *71,020.00. E. Riley Mixner, $70^70.00. Sutton A Corson Co., $78,710.00.
The above amounts are for the road only and do not include the steel work of the bridges. It includes all necessary fill, bulkheads, etc., from Willard Avenue, Corson's Inljt, to Fifty-fifth
street and Bay avenue. Ocean City.
It is possible that the work will be held up and the bids changed by roa son of the fact that a remonstrance has been filed with the State Board of Commerce and Navigation against filling in Middle and Weak Fish thoroughfares. It was intended to flP these in to save the cost of bridges, as they are little used, and are not deep enough for other than small sail and row boats. It is.understood that thirty-nine have signed the remonstrance, and a heariig will now be necessary. Should the State Board decide that these thoroughfares must remain open, it will be necessary to change the specifications, and re-ad-vertise for bids. This will increase
the cost of the road considerable.
, Bid* for the re-construction of the
Holley Beach road, from its intei tion with the Seashore road at
Grande, to Pacific Avenue, Wildwood, were opened. They are as follows:
