A LAMB AND A PU8SV.

Of course you know about Mary 1 * lamb, whose fleece waa whits ns snow. Well, I could not bo sure bow white this lamb's fleece wu*. You see, it lived in a hie public park where there were a great many other anlmala, and the mep wbo take care of them have a, heap to do. The lamb I am going to Ml you about waa early left a little orphan lambling, and one of the kind hearted keepers, took It out of the field with the other lambs and sheep and brought it up himself. He had a p« kitten, and soon the pet lamb and the pet kitten became great friends, playing together and cuddling close to one another for warmth when they took a nap. It waa very cute to see them. By and by Kittle became old enough to go off by herself, while Lambls could not get out of the little yard In which tie was kept. U.- would watch anxiously until his little friend came back and aa aoo) be saw her would Jump about and ‘'ba-a-a” with delight If ptuay not too tired they would have a g of tag before *be stretched out to real after ber wandering* or be would go over to the plate where her food had been placed and Join ber at the meal. Lauible would eat liver and fish and seemed to enjoy It One day when cat. nip waa given to Kitty he licked it up with great seeming relish. Everything that the cat did the lamb | tried to do. It took some time for him j to learn that ho waa wasting time In ; trying to climb a tree. When pussy took to the buslnees of ‘ mow* and rat catching the lamb joined her u» watching the mouse boles and, | though ne-er able to capture anything, seemed pleased when hla friend did. Having seen the cat trying to catch birds, the lamb amused all wbo saw him trying to capture a sparrow. The lamb would crouch close to the ground and creep closer and closer to the bird, which always darted away Just as he was ready to pounce down ui>on It. The keeper who baa brought op the two animals together and who tells the story of the remarkable lamb Insists that U arches Us back when an fry. Just like its pussycat friend. What w j| hap|ien lo the lamb when it Is too old to be a pet and baa to go back Into the field w ith the staid and quiet sheep who live there) No doubt the other sheep will not know what to make of It and its queer pussy cat ways. Driving th# Cows to Posture. The cows are the little wooden creatures that come In children's barnyard acts. These are allotted to each player In turn, and a small stick given him to drive with.
