both inlets. In the many small creeks, but a few minutes’ walk from the city’s very centre, crabs in plentiful supply fall easy prey to the happy fisher’s net, while in the nearby shallow waters of Ludlam’s Bay oysters and dams grow most abundantly. There is also a beautiful, wooded, fresh water lake—Magnolia Lake, ten minutes’ ride from the city, where rowboats can be obtained and fresh wrater fishing enjoyed. RAILROAD FACILITIES. During the summer speedy and well-appoint-ed trains run between Philadelphia and Sea Isle City. The city is reached by two lines of railroads—the Reading from Chestnut Street Wharf and the Pennsylvania from Market Street Wharf. The distance by the Pennsylvania road is 65 miles and by the Reading several miles shorter. Business men can readily travel to and from Philadelphia daily, thus enabling them to spend the nights with their families by the sea. During even the mid-summer months scarcely a night passes during which visitors to Sea lisle City are able to dispense with bedcovers. BUSINESS MEN’S ASSOCIATION. Behind every movement there must be some dynamic force to keep the wheels turning. Sea Isle City has, besides a very progressive Commission Government, an organization whose object is to promote the city. This Association was formed by seven of the city’s progressive business men, and since its organization eighteen months ago it has grown until it now numbers among its members the city’s most representative business men and taxpayers. The aggregate wealth of the members of the Association at this time is over twenty-five millions of dollars, and new members are constantly adding their names to the rolL No matter what the natural advantages, and men-made comforts of any resort city might be. there are many things that need the attention of a progressive, united body of men, whose interests are in those of the city, and this is what the Business Men's Association has set out to tie—and it is accomplishing its purpose. The officers of the Association are: Edward B. Arnett, President. John Carrol, Vice-President. Wm. A. HaSert, Secretary. A. G. Rice, Treasurer. THE CIVIC CLUB. If buere is one thing more than another that Sea Isle City prides in, it is the Women’s Civic Club. Localtd in a splendid two-story building directly on the boardwalk, the organization, comprised of the first ladies of the town, is one of the chief factors in the city's advancement and growth. The club house is always open to everyone, member or not, and is used as a rest room during the season. A matron is always in charge, and every courtesy is extended to all who make use of the club's hospitality. An emergency room is provided, so that in case of accident the victim can be given first aid at once. It might be said, to Sea Isle's credit, that this room has not been used for yeans. Card parties are given every week in the Assembly Hah on the second floor of the building, and a social spirit, such as is seldom seen at a seashore resort, is always manifest.

THE CITi FATHERS. Sea Isle City is under the Commission Form of Government, and has three Commissioaeral a Director of Finance, a Director of Highways, and a Mayor, who acts as Director of Safety. Seldom, if ever, have three men been chosen by the voters of a municipality who are so fitted to occupy the positions as Sea Isle City's three City Fathers. Director of Finance, Frank W. Fowke*. for many years occupied an important position with the Reading Railroad, and is at present Clerk .of the Cape May County Board of Freeholders, which office he has reduced to a perfect system. He is also Secretary of the State Association of Boards of Freeholders, composed of the representatives of the twenty-one counties in the State. In his hands the finances of the City are well taken care of. and never before in the history of Sea Isle City has such a splendid financial system been in use. Director of Highways, J. P. Delaney, is the owner of a Hotel, and conducts a cement business. He is a man who has lived in Sea Isle City for over thirty years, and is thorqug 4jr acquainted with every corner of the City. He is an authority on budding work, and an expert in street construction. Mayor Richard M. Atwater is one of the pioneers of Sea Isle City, and is an educated, • ell read, retired business man. who has the city’s best interests at heart. He is Commodore of Sea Isle City's beautiful Yacht Club, and is always read?' to extend the “glad hand" to the visitor. All in all. Sea Isle City is well governed. SEA ISLE Cm HAS Two steam raHroads.
