Charles M. Preston, a Civil War veteran, and a resident of this place, died at his home here. Tuesday, April 3rd. after an Illness of sevenl weeks. Up to the last his brain was active, And his memory was good. The last time he was In Philadelphia, which was about two months ago, he offered his services to Uncle Sam. Elliott, of Ardmore, Pa., paid a flying visit to her sister, Mra. H. Corson, recently. Miss Carolyn Grace, who^as Joined the Red Cross class at Wildwood, has already enlisted. If that class should be called to help the U. S., they are ready. Easter services in the M. E. Church on Sunday were very much enjoyed. The children went through the parts with much credit, and the singing helped make a most enjoyable day.

CHAMBER OF COMMERCE MEETS NEXT THURSDAY

The Cape Ma> County Chamber of Commerce will bold Ha regular monthly meeting next Thursday, at Stone Harbor. The meeting will be In the Borough Hall, with delegate* from all parts of the County present. With the war situation acute as it !», there will be many matter* touching on this under discussion. This will, porhapa. he the last meeting of the season. though one was held la May last year, at Strathmore. All meetings ere open to the general public.
