The Wildwood Anxilarr Coast Artillery, forty strong, Uuder the command of Captain O’Daniel attended a Urge prepardneas meeting in tbe new school building at Sea lale City last Tuesday night, Webster Bright taking them over in bis large auto tonring bus. Arriving there they were received by Professor Carroll, when CapL O'Daniel gave an exhibition drill; they made a fine appearance and executed all the miliury evolutions with precision and akill, reflecting great credit upon their instructor and also upon the City of
Wildwood.
The program was finely arranged by Mr. Gillison, ot tbe Lutheran church, who opened the meeting with prayer. Tbe school children Bang*the National Anthem and the Battle Hymn of tbe Republic, Dr. J. Morgan Dix, of Cape May Court House, made a stirring address; tbe daughter of Gustave Morn binweg sang a beautiful ballad and was repeatedly encoitd. The principal speech of the evening was made bv William H. Bright, tbe keynote of which, was unity of action on tbe part of tbe industrial army in making preparations to offset tbe shortage in tbe food supply, tbe practice of economy food consumption and tbe elimination waste and tbe planting of gardens for vegetables by everyone. Several lots wt.e offered and accepted, ami many enlisted to do tbeir “bit;’' the pastor of tbe Methodist church pronounced tbe benediction. The surprise of the evening came when Gustave Mornhinweg, the popular baker, invited tbe entire party from w ildwood, to a fine Inncbeon at his home.
