Cannao sad skidded into a telegraph pole in front of the store of Bert Way, seriously injuring Grant, who waa driving, and Inspector A. G. Bradford and Constable John N. Johnson, of Ocean City, who were paaeengwi in

Word waa at once phoned for physicians, bat it «** fully half an hour before medical aid arrived. First aid wae administered by Irviug Fitch, of Bps Isle City, who received word of the accident by pboae. Grant ia now at hi* home in Atlantic Citr, Bradford is in th* Atlantic City Hospital and Johnson at hi* homeln ocean City. It is Uionght that all three will fully recover, altiiough the condition of Bradford'* eye it seriou*. All who witneaaed the accident completely exonerate the driver of the Canute team and lay tits fnll blame on Grant. Extraordmarv though it may teem, the engine of the wrecked car kept rnnniug for some time after tbe accident until it was stopped by shutting off the gas. A report that Grant died in Atlantic City on Tuesday night ia without foundation. He is now resting easily in tb* Atlantic City Hospital, where an Xray examination by Dr. Coward abowed bia injuries to be not aa serious aa waa first thought. According to Grant, who waa interviewed on Wednesday, he was chasing another car, which waa traveling "(aster than thirty mile* an hoar" when tbe accident occurred.
