Sea Isle City Successfully Celebrates the Fourth One ol the moet successful ol the many "glorious Fourths” held in Se* Isle City took place on Wednesday. Phe Business Men's Association secured the service* ol State Senator Daix ol the Pennsylvania Ameuibly s* orator ol the day. A civic parade was arranged, starting from City Hall at S o’clock and proceeding to Swain street, letnrning by the Boardwalk to the Pier aadilorinm. Naval veteran A. C. Barclav beaded the parade, supported by two member* ol Machine Gun Company ol the Sixth Pennaylvania National Guard Marcy and George MildieH. s Band came next in line, folby Civil War veteran* in the car ol Mr. Chas. 11. Clouting. The veterans were Meaar*. Christian Ankele, J. L. Spear. D. H. Wheaton and WilliamT. Bryant. The parade was halted at the Lutheran Church corner, a here a flag raising took place. Messrs. Ankele and Bryan!, as representatives ol the G. A. R. and also of ths local Lutheran congregation, raised the flag. At the Pier auditorial!! the exercises included an oration on Uie “ Victories ol the !*lar-Hpaugled liannei," and mauv round* of applause interrupted Senator Daix'a address. Mr. Coxsnn's “Union Chorus'' sang well, the selection* being very appropriate and stirring medleys of Southern melodies and national sire. Senator Daix was supported by Mayor Crouecker, E. B. Arnett, the Civil War veterans and Rev. John T. Gillison, who was the chairman of the 'the members of the chorus were Mrs. Marry J. Steer, Mrs. William A. Attorney Richard Crouecker of Sea Isle City. TV* auditorium was crowded. The day was rounded out with a grand display of firework* at the foot of Garrison street, facing Uie Boardwalk. Tl.« display was the best ever seen here and a big crowd enjoyed the tight.

GOVERNMENT HELPS STOP FISH STEALING Three Local Men Apprehended by U. S. Marshal on Charge of Holmes Fish Company of Stealing from Pound Camel i Monchetti, Joseph Monchetti and Frank Marquett, three local fishermen in the employ of the Holme* Fish Company, were arrested on Tuesday by United States Deputy Marshall John H. Veil, of Trent' , for alleged stealing of fish from the pounds operated by the Holmes concern. Cameli Monchetti was the first of the defendants to be rounded up, and he was lodged in the local jail until the other two, with the aid of special officer Peterson, were located. The three were then taken to Atlantic City far a hearing before Henry W. Lewis, Esq., the newly appointed United States Commissioner, for this district. After preliminary hearing the three i were left out on bail. Trial will be in Atlantic City on Saturday. It is alleged by the Holmes Fish Company that the three had mat practice of going out to the pou located about five miles off-shore, and stealing fish from the pockets, sometimes coming in with their boat filled. The loss is estimated to have been from $50 to $300 at each haul, and there have been a number of them. Deepwater Company involved. The Deepwater Fish Company, operateo by Pasqualle Montagna, has been up against a similar condition, and last week after one of the “pirate" fishermen's boats had gone out at about dusk. Mr. Montagna got his quietest running boat and followed them. They lifted several pounds, and finding them empty, left them and went to on* of the Deepwater pounds and promptly proceeded to take out ail the fish. Mr. Montagna appeared on the scene while this was going on. and caught the culprits red-handed. What action he will take has not been disclosed.

Honeymoon Still Shining Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Clarke Bartlett, ol Pfiiladrlpbia, are spending their honeymoon at the Burl House, coming directly from Booth Hadley Falla, Maas., where tiny wer* married last Saturday at Uie home of Uie bride's parents. The bride was formerly Miss Marion Hoffman, and was one of Uie most popular musicians in her borne city. The parents of the groom are also registered at the Barf Hoasr and will probably remain for the season William I. Orchard, of New York, and his bride of three days arrived on Tuesday to spend part of their honeymoon in Sea Isle City, coming down from Atlantic City. Mr. Orchard is editor of Benxingcr’s Magazine. New York, and is well known here, having been a visitor for several seasons ps>L The bride was formerly Mi«s Mildred A. Peck, of Hackensack, N. J. The couple reside in Paterson, N. J- on their turn.

Sinking Fund Commissioners Now Organized The City Commissidners met this week on Tuesday. W ednesday being a legal holiday. Little new business was undertaken beyond ordering an approach built to the Boardwalk on the south aide of Girard Street, the cost to be charged to the property owners. The Director of Finance repo-v J that the Kinking Fund Commisaioners had organised, with the following officers: President, Chas. H. Clouting; Treasurer. Lewis Steinmever; Secretary, H. Love. It was concluded to have the band play at Townsend's Inlet one day in each week throughout the season. The band gave its first concert on Tuesday, under the porvonal leadership of Mr Tosca and rendarrd exce'lent service. The report of the Treasurer and Director of Finance for the month of June was read, and shows the City to hr in remarkably good shape cor rritig conditions. An effort will be made within the next few months to collect much of the taxes that have been allowed to become delinquent.

Ocean View Hotel Sold The Ocean View Hotel, on Italia ■treet near the beach, ha* been sold by the estate of Mrs. Herrington to Frank Palumbo, of Philadelphia. The new owner is President of an Italian banking houae in the Quaker City and will conduct the place at an apartment hotel.

Planning Big Time Soon D. Cini, of Philadelphia, one of St Isle City’s best known summer res den:> and ardent admirers and boo ter*, i; prosecuting an active car paign to raise $1000, part at which is to be used to secure five additional pieces in the band, and the defray the cost of a big obration to be held in August. Fund* are now in Mr. Ctni’s hands for enough to defray the con of the five extra pieces in the band, so that Isle City j* assured of a fifteen-piece band this year, instead of the ten pieces furnished by the City. Mr. Tosca, the band leader, is w relative of Mr. Ofni's, and both he and his hard have rendered most excellent services to date, both in the regular concert*, and for the Fourth of July celebration.

BOARD WILL ACCOPI PERSONAL BONOS At Meeting on Tuesdey Take Action for Holly Beach Coniractors; Pay lor Stone Harbor Road

The Board of F'rseholdets met at Cape May Court Houae for their regular wfsion on Tuesday asu passed a resolution ti accept personal bonds from Uie tractor* for the completion of Uie Holly Beach road from Rio Grande to Wildwood. This road contract was abandoned by the original contractor, II. I’. Willis, and tbs Board is to recover any loss from th* surety company which bonded the contractor. From the contractor*, liowever, the Board accept personal bonds and trust to good fortune that tbs bondsmen are responsible. Freeholder DeBow, of Sea Isle City, slone opposed the measure. I’. R. Risley, for the South Jersey Realty Company, given Uie floor, stated that the road was completed for which they had the contract in Slone Harbor and would like payment of Uie balance doe. He invited Uie Board to look Uie road during the noon recess. Other Business The Atlantic County Tuberculosis Hospital having notified the Board that so many Atlantic County patient* were being accommodated that one Jas. Trolley Situation Being Rapidly Cleared Up

The trolley situation in Sea TaM City ha* been cleared up, and the cars will run as soon os the necessary repairs to the tracks at Whale Beach are made. A force of men will be to work at once to get the roadoed in shape. New cars have been ordered and left the car work* at Toledo, Ohio, yesterday. They will be of the pay-as-you-enter type, thus saving the platform expense* of the conductor required on the old-style cars. Cars uf a similar type are uaed in Ocean City. The old cant have been sold for junk, and are to be bunted for the old iron and metal in them. It is hoped by the officials of the road to have it in operation by July 15th.

Stone Heritor Enjoys Fourth

Fourth of July was a big dsv for KunaHarbor, Uie program at the Yacht Club being carried out without a bitch. Uie regatta motor-boat races Commodore Markland’a craft was an easy winner. The fire apparatus was demonstrated and many expressed Uieir surprise Uie work the powerful Utile machine could do. The buna-men's ambulance, with tbs doctor* and Red Cross nurse* in evidence, lent a real Red Croas atmosphere to Ua celebration. Bew Gets Turned Down R. Bertram Bew, III, husband of Jean Bergner Bew, 17, lost bn legal skirmish with his father-in-law, GorLav William Bergner.
