WILL NOT BUY BRIDGE. None of the Cape May County Freeholder* attended the meeting of the Atlantic County Board, at Atlantic aty last week, when the matter of the Joint purchase by the two counties, of the Ocean City to Somers Point bridge ss discussed. The Atlantic County Board had invited members of the AUantic’Clty Chamber of Commerce to attend this meeting, and Dr. Darnell, of Atlantic aty. representing the Chamber, stet- * ed that State Highway Commtesioner Walter J. Buxby bad said that the State would take over the Ocean aty bridge, or "would build a bridge from Beesley’s Point to Somers Point, whichever route the two counties ♦greed Jipon The Chamber presented a resolution against the purchase of the bridge by the two Counties to view

of this

Members of the Atlantic County Board are inclined to doubt that the State wUl buy ihe Ocean aty bridge in the near future, and are In favor ot an immediate abolition of the pres-

ent heavy tolls.

At Tuesday's meeting of the (tope Msy County Board Jt was stated unofficially by the Committee appointed to meet with :be Atlantic County Freeholder*. that a later meeting at which they could attend, would be arranged, but it is believed that the Cape May member* wUl be vrt 11 * 1 the proposed Joint purchase of the bridge. Whether the bridge 1* bought by the State, or the two counties, is immaterial to tb* general public, who are interested chiefly in being able to get arruss the bridge without being held up for a heavy toll each way.
