Marvelous Rise In Realty Values. |e full truth of the marvelous increase in j City land values can hardly be grasped by those who are most familiar with the A, and neither do we seem to grasp the •ht that wonderful as were the increases f the early days of the resort, the increases my localities* have been greater since then

and are sure to be still greater during the next five or ten years. An increase of seventy thousand dollars on one lot in a few years may seem like a fairy tale, but it is a fact that can be proven bqgond a doubt, the accretions from the sea added to the great increase in the value of the original lot, causing a lot at Eighth and Ocean avenue, which was offered a few years ago for thirty thousand dollars, to be held at one hundred thousand dollars today. And while that case makes what might seem to be “a stupendous object lesson,’’ more than one other case can be cited, and cases of similai comparative increases abound all over the island. For instance this one really seems better: Not much more than fifteen years ago two ladies purchased from the Ocean City Association a plot of ground—one hundred and fifty foot front—for which they paid a little ovex three thousand dollars. That particular plot with accretions, could not be bought today foi ninety thousand dollars. A plot of ground near Eighth and Ocean avenue was bought in “the early days” for five hundred dollars. The purchaser put building* upon the ground and received an excellent revenue from the investment and afterwards, moving the houses to another section of the city, he sold the ground for ten thousand dollars, and it is worth much more today. In those "earlv day stories” we are told ol the opportunity lost by a man (still living) U secure a fortune for six hundred dollara.
